Trilhos de vida – A Living Man Declared Dead and Other Chapters, foi realizada durante um período de 4 anos (2008-2011). Durante o qual Simon viajou pelo mundo investigando laços de sangue de várias famílias e histórias de vida associadas. Em cada um dos 18 capítulos, que englobam este trabalho, forças externas como a partilha de território, poder, religião e outros fatores colidem com as forças internas de herança física e psicológica.
Simon documentou famílias rivais no Brasil, vítimas de genocídio na Bósnia, mortos vivos na Índia (daqui advém o título da exposição), entre muitos outros. Uma mapa de relações humanas e as várias componentes do destino, presentes na vida dessas pessoas, constituem este excelente trabalho de rigor antropológico.
